Schwab is seeking a dynamic .NET and Angular UI results-oriented Software Development Specialist with a passion for technology, innovation, and excellence. We are in midst of architecting and building our core enterprise software platform to support our rapidly growing and evolving business, where the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-moving and agile environment, developing high-quality, high-performance, and scalable software. Successful candidate to be responsible for individual coding contributions to the team. The candidate will work aside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the overall software development lifecycle and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases.

This position will be part of Digital Onboarding at Schwab, and we will focus on driving client-centricity, reducing time to market & increasing efficiency. The model is insights-driven and focuses on rapid iterations to drive innovation and transformation. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide hands-on development on problems of moderate to complex scope that requires a variety of factors in the analysis of functional requirements, trends, or data.
  • Breaks down complex problems into manageable components, conducting detailed analysis for optimal solutions.
  • Prototype, validate and create specific application solutions to solve moderate to complex business problems and digital client experience by demonstrating a systematical and logical approach to evaluate data, identifying patterns and trends in developing software solution.
  • Work closely with team members and product owners to decompose stories into components, designing components/features, and prioritize tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop software solutions. following established best practices, standards, and processes. Ensure reliable software development by thoroughly testing with built in quality assurance and resolve any operational issues/bugs/defects.
  • Apply best practices of software development, unit testing and integrations ensuring delivery of high-quality code that is stable, reliable, and secure.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of quality standards and work independently with minimum support and guidance.
  • Communicate with clarity and consistently keeping the team well informed about developments, plans, and essential information.
  • Communicate proactively keeping the team informed on critical matters and changes.
  • Work independently with minimum instructions, support, and guidance.

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of development experience using a Microsoft technology stack including .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core building RESTful APIs.
  • 5 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in web-based technologies such as Angular/React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, jQuery, Backbone, Bootstrap, Node or similar.
  • Proficiency in PCF, Bamboo, Bitbucket and GitHub.
  • Strong experience with object-oriented programming concepts, design patterns, development, implementation including algorithms and data structures.
  • Strong experience writing unit, acceptance test driven development and integration tests.
  • Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases. Experience with scripting languages and efficient storage and retrieval techniques.
  • Good Understanding of and ability to apply SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Responsive Design and Single Page Applications (SPA) Application performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Have previous experience in building scalable, reliable applications in the financial industry and engaged in performance optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Visual Studio VS Core, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, PCF, GCP, Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub, JIRA/Rally is preferred.
  • Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for resolving technical problems quickly and in line with platform strategy and vision.
  • Independently plan own work and are accountable to meet schedules and deliverables.
  • Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other team member to meet agreed upon objectives.
  • Ability to analyze, propose and implement software solutions effectively and efficiently with high quality for all issues or problems within area of responsibility.
  • Comfortable working in fast paced agile environment with established best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Effective time management must be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Must have a passion for problem-solving, the ability to learn new technologies quickly, and able to interact with all levels of technical and business teams.
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively across organizations and geographic locations.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
