The Portfolio Management Technology team is looking for a talented technologist to develop software and solutions for our private cloud-based risk management platform, Advanced Collateral Management System (ACMS). The team is in the process of building ultra-low latency, high volume, and reliable next generation cloud-based platform. When it is completed, the application should support processing several billions of inquiry transactions during market hours. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly visible team that delivers innovative business solutions leveraging emerging technologies at Schwab. What You Are Good At
- Evaluating complex user requests and clarifying and communicating the objectives in a clear and concise manner
- Conducting and preparing feasibility studies for new and existing applications
- Leading projects with moderate complexity and scope
- Making a positive influence on your team members and peers
- Providing technical expertise
- Working on Proof Of Concepts (POCs) using new/emerging technology/tools
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 4+ years of experience in a software development role
- Experience with full stack application development technologies, RESTful APIs, Relational and Document-Based databases, and Cloud technologies
- 5+ years of coding experience in C#/.NET
- Experience with IBM MQ, Kafka, Aerospike (NoSQL) database, Splunk (logging), JSON/XML, PCF (Cloud), Agile Practices etc.
- Experience being a technical lead for a team and/or project
- Ability to produce detailed design with help from leads and architects and communicate the design to the necessary stakeholders
- Ability to coordinate with teams across different geographic locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to work independently and to effectively interact and collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers, and leaders
- The ability work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- The ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies
- Strong customer focus with a sense of ownership and determination to drive solutions in a collaborative environment
- Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to front end system integration with Pega/Appian BPM tools
- Familiarity with Schwab Technology ecosystem
