We are seeking an entrepreneurial and passionate Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) of Mobile Technology to take our customer experience to the next level.

The Senior Technical Program Manager role will collaborate with other product and technology teams, to ensure Schwab Mobile app is meeting our clients' expectations. An ideal candidate will enjoy being part of an impactful and growing technology team, working in a fast-paced environment, be process and data oriented, have strong communication skills, and have extensive experience with secure, client-facing online technologies with a preference for experience in Mobile and cloud technologies.

The role will lead the strategic planning of the technology roadmap, enabling effective execution. Strategic planning will include creating the roadmap, from long term planning (annual) to quarterly and project level execution and managing schedule progress from large phases through to detailed tasks, including understanding and managing dependencies within and across groups. This will require working directly with Engineering Senior leadership, Development Managers, Product Managers and other TPM's to ensure timely delivery and tactical execution against the OKR's.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leadership in your areas of responsibility, owning proactive communications and consistent progress updates
  • Partnering and direct facilitation with teams at all levels; from in the weeds with developers on projects to summations and process strategy at the executive level
  • Continually evaluate technology effectiveness/data interoperability of complex systems, influence vendor roadmap and direction of products
  • Assist in presenting strategy/roadmaps to business/ IT leaders
  • Lead multiple projects of diverse scope where analysis requires an understanding of current business and technology trends
  • Lead the Agile ceremonies including Quarterly planning, Sprint planning etc.
  • Coordinate and optimize the efforts of cross-functional teams, including across conflicting streams, identifying risks and proactively mitigating them
  • Providing problem-solving leadership with an expert ability to navigate dynamic and conflicting opinions and deliver within budget and per schedule
  • Collaborate with other technical teams and Mobile Architects/Technical leads to build the technical roadmap, initiatives and epics and refine them into stories with acceptance criteria
  • Manage budget and vendor relationships including work orders, vendor evaluation and delivery progress by vendors

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of technical program management experience with 3+ years as a TPM
  • 2+ years of experience in client facing applications (Mobile is preferred)
  • Strong understanding of modern software development and enterprise and software architecture (previous software development experience is highly desired)
  • Strong understanding of multi web architectural patterns
  • Must be able to define and document technical requirements
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum and leading technical backlog creation, refinement and story creation in partnership with the developers
  • Ability to understand the why and how for technical items and refine epics into detailed stories
  • Comfort in a dynamic, fast-moving and collaborative work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic
  • Keen eye for recognizing consistent and efficient experiences and processes and promoting a continuous improvement culture
  • Experience in building partnerships, mobilizing and motivating teams, influencing others at all levels of an organization, and driving change to effectively manage project deliverables across teams in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
