The Enterprise and Operational Risk Management (EORM) department's mission is to enable Schwab's businesses to help our client's Own Their Tomorrow through excellence in risk management. Our strategic vision is to implement and maintain an EORM model that sets the highest standards, challenges the status quo, and keep business partner and client needs at the center of our work, while remaining responsive to the regulatory landscape and broader industry trends, thereby ensuring Schwab maintains its competitive advantage.
EORM Strategy and Operations team drives strategy, change, structure and discipline to EORM's operational activities, with a focus on driving scale and simplicity across the EORM organization.
The EORM Senior (Sr.) Specialist will report to the Director of EORM Strategy and Operations. As part of the EORM Strategy and Operations Team, the Sr. Specialist is a utility entry role that will engage with stakeholders across Corporate Risk Management, EORM, and with business partners to support execution of various activities. This role provides essential support for execution of strategy, operations, training, change management, project management and communications activities with Schwab, CRM, EORM, and Enterprise Strategy & Governance impacts. Additional support for the execution of strategic initiatives and assurance activities (i.e., testing, audits, and regulatory exams) will create meaningful impact towards our goal of excellence in risk management.
EORM Strategy & Operations team is people centric at its core. The team thrives on collaboration, leads with a service mindset, and lives its team values of belonging, respect, accountability, and trust. This is a visible role that will engage with key stakeholders throughout Enterprise and Operational Risk Management and across the three lines of defense. The EORM Sr. Specialist Strategy and Operations is an Individual Contributor role.
What You're Good At
The Senior Specialist will possess a focused, consistent, and strategic approach to risk management, engaging appropriate stakeholders and using strong partnerships to drive the most effective results possible. This position will also work closely with policy and standard owners in navigating the CIOM and ensuring implementation plans are detailed and timed appropriately given other projects and initiatives. The role requires coordination and collaboration to work with multiple areas of Schwab to seamlessly affect change to our business partners. You should have experience in developing and executing implementation plans, helping to drive change management, and be a strong and effective communicator.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in communications, project management, and preferably in a financial services and/or risk management environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently craft communications, key messaging and power point presentations for a wide range of audiences up to and including executive management
- Flexible, adaptable with demonstrated success in personally navigating change and modeling optimism in the face of uncertainty
- Ability to build and execute project and communications plans in a fast paced, high-performance environment
- Exceptional relationship building and partnership skills
- Strong organizational skills required to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities
- Naturally curious with a knack for asking the right questions at the right time to promote dialogue and understanding
- Commitment to continuous learning with a focus on financial services and risk management
- Ability to give and receive feedback effectively in order to expand personal and team knowledge and skills
- Advanced PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Suite, and SharePoint skills, with openness to AI emerging office technologies
