The Internal Audit Department (IAD) of The Charles Schwab Corporation provides independent and objective assessments to figure out whether all significant risks are identified and appropriately reported by management and risk functions to the Board and Executive Management, to evaluate whether risks are adequately controlled, and to challenge Executive Management to improve the effectiveness of governance processes, risk management, and internal controls.
The Professional Practices Group (PPG) within IAD provides the processes, training, and tools to support the audit teams' adherence to standards and expectations of quality and consistency. PPG also provides the data and analysis of internal audit activities and results to the leadership team, regulators, and to CSC's governance committees to support their performance of effective oversight. The Standards & Training team within PPG is seeking a Senior Specialist to support the IAD continuous learning program and the administration, facilitation, and documentation of blended learning activities and assist with the ongoing management of the IAD procedures and guidance.

The Senior Specialist is an individual contributor role that reports to the PPG Director of Standards & Training. The PPG Standards & Training team is a critical function within IAD that supports a growing department undergoing a transformation and continued evolution to meet regulatory expectations of a large financial institution.
What you'll do:
- Organize and administer live (in-person and/or virtual) training sessions.
- Organize and administer the web-based platform(s) that house learning content for the IAD.
- Manage the IAD continuous learning plan and calendar and collaborate with others to schedule learning sessions for respective audiences.
- Perform tracking, monitoring, and follow-up procedures related to training requirements, registrations, and completion for various courses.
- Administer activities related to industry and professional certifications and affiliations for the department.
- Administer surveys and learning assessments, including tracking, analyzing, and reporting data in relation to established measurement targets.
- Provide support to new hires to help ensure a positive learning experience.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities through the ongoing review and analysis of the outcomes of learning activities and other learning and development measurements.
- Support curriculum management processes to help ensure training materials and their contents are kept current and effectively maintained.
- Develop desktop procedures for activities performed supporting the IAD Continuous Learning program and create instructional guidance and self-study materials to support the understanding of content, knowledge retention, and the successful completion of audit tasks.
- Support the development and delivery of various types of curriculums that motivate learners and support knowledge retention using several methods based on the learning topics and needs of the department.
- Support learning and development needs for the internal audit department by understanding the impact of changes from procedures, systems, strategic initiatives, etc.
- Provide live (in person and/or virtual) and engaging training sessions related to select internal audit and industry-specific topics in collaboration with subject-matter resources.
- Effectively influence colleagues without direct reporting lines.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and support department strategic initiatives.
What you have
- 3-5+ years of related work experience.
- Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to details, including strong writing, visualization, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organization skills and self-discipline to effectively administer key program activities timely and ensure supporting documentation is complete and retained.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Must be innovative, flexible, and willing to continuously improve and adapt to evolving learning needs.
- Thrives on learning, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and guiding others.
- Builds authentic and positive relationships across organizational boundaries to create alignment and support and uses relationships and insights to successfully influence others.

- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
