As a Sr. Software Developer, you will need to be a self-starter who partners well with others. In Corporate Risk Management we provide an integrated risk management strategy that supports the delivery of predictable financial and operational performance to produce successful client and shareholder outcomes. We are organized around six primary functions: Enterprise Risk; Credit, Market, and Investment Risk; Information Security Risk; Model Risk; Operational Risk; and Financial Crimes Risk. Specifically, our Financial Crimes Risk team handles the risk of loss in Money Movement services offered through Schwab Bank and Brokerage affiliates, and risk of Money Laundering by various bad actors. The role is within our Strategy Execution Data Automation (SEDA) team, part of Financial Crimes risk Management (FCRM) Organization.

Overall Essential Duties Include:

  • 7-10 years of Java/C# development experience, with an emphasis on API development, Python and back-end services
  • Maximize the Client/Brand experience while helping to minimize financial crimes.
  • Share responsibility for protecting clients and company from criminal activity such as ID theft, Scams, Synthetic ID, Account Take-Over, and New Account Fraud.
  • Strong proficiency in Development of RESTful web services
  • Create data objects, job flows, code and applications.
  • Experience in Power BI Platform to develop and gain insights for Content, Search and Channel Analytics
  • Experience with .NET 8.0, Blazor Architecture, Razor C# web page development skills, Dev Ops and Windows administration skills to deploy web code, SSO , IAM integration skills, Role based access distribution .
  • Work with vendors and internal and external business partners to acquire new data feeds to inform risk management and fraud prevention activities.
  • Share technical ownership of the Risk Data infrastructure including databases, data objects, GUIs and job flows.
  • Expertise and enthusiasm for unit testing patterns and methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OOP and SOLID principles
  • Application performance evaluation and tuning skills
  • Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team
  • Knowledge of authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2, SAML, JWT)
  • Regularly deliver ad-hoc data solutions such as simple-to-complex queries and analytic data sets.
  • Act as your own application administrator and production support.
  • Take an interactive and visible role within your department as well as with business partners.

What you have

Required Qualification:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science OR related practical experience
  • 7+ years working in dynamic, large-scale, business data environments.
  • 5+ years acquiring, automating, moving and blending transactional data to support analytics
  • Extensive experience writing SQL and working with relational databases (E.g., SQL Server, Teradata, ORACLE).
  • Strong experience with ETL and workflow tools (E.g. SSIS, Alteryx or similar)
  • Proven experience with general coding languages (E.g., C#, Python)
  • Working knowledge of terminal emulators (E.g., PuTTy) and basic UNIX/LINUX commands
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment and function in a professional manner under pressure
  • Ability to take ownership and drive solutions on complex assignments with regulatory and audit implications
  • Results oriented, ability to identify and solve issues in a team environment working with various levels of management and business partners
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
