The Workplace Financial Services Digital team is responsible for offer design, opportunity exploration and discovery, product management and platform operations and innovation for Schwab's retirement plan solutions, including Retirement Plan Service, Stock Plan Services, and Designated Brokerage. Our mandate is to strengthen and extend our digital offering to more participants, plan sponsors, and consultants as we work to further our scale and create more tailored experiences for key segments of our client base. To do this, we work with partners and delivery organizations to ensure key processes / interactions are designed and executed smoothly.

A few specific tasks include developing a strategic vision, objectives, and KBIs for a digital product, platform, channel, or feature; evaluating the viability and value of digital product solutions; Identifying and anticipating client needs based on research; leading 12-month product roadmap and release plan development in collaboration with the scrum team and partner teams; synchronizing work and making prioritization/trade-off decisions; creating stakeholder engagement strategy for internal and external networks; capturing stakeholder concerns and dependencies and implementing refinements to the overall roadmap; Managing risk strategies and quality; identifying client and firm impacts; developing controls and testing them.

Brief Description of the role:

The Sr. Manager, Digital Product Management, Solution Management will be the lead on large cross product team initiatives including retirement plan regulatory items. The role is responsible for opportunity discovery, analysis, impact, partnering with RPS business with recommendations and ensuring effective execution of the business priorities across associated technology scrum teams, preparing the field for any changes and messaging, growing vendor and client relationships as well as internal stakeholder partnerships. You will need excellent project management, communication and documentation skills, deep knowledge of retirement plan ERISA regulations and administration, and the ability to navigate internal governance structure effectively.

What you are good at

  • Help to prioritize features, functions and data as needed within RPS and the project teams representing the RPS Experience.
  • Drive the discovery process for opportunities and complete necessary documentation preparing product teams for executing on the solution identified.
  • Identify high-level business needs through outreach to key business partners and assist with user stories associated with these requirements.
  • Communicate data and functional requirements to the Product Owner and technology development teams.
  • Capability to dig deep on legislative items and communicate business impact to partners as well as provide recommendations on interpretations / impacts to the RPS business.
  • Participate in meetings with key partners that is responsible for the roadmap of near- and long-term deliverables.
  • Coordinate with RPS, Technology, Client Experience, other key internal partners, and Vendor Management for critical production processes.
  • Hands-on support and guidance in crafting the overall product vision, from executive level roadmap communication to Agile team epic review and refinement.
  • Interact with the business and technology leaders across Schwab. This role requires significant cross-organization leadership and management to understand business needs and ensure product success across multiple user experience platforms.
  • Evaluate strategic, tactical and risk management impacts of alternative trade-off decisions in the context of our product vision, goals and strategy, proposing sound, well-supported, fact-based recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage a prioritization process that is transparent, non-biased, value-based, and balances needs across multiple stakeholders.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 7+ years product management experience providing end-to-end business direction and digital product leadership.
  • Prior experience using Jira and Confluence, along with understanding and an appreciation of Agile.
  • Experience collaborating with technology teams, product, marketing, and business partners to implement digital experiences.
  • Experience crafting and implementing processes, procedures, and controls for managing the administration of a retirement plan product.
  • Experience executing project delivery working with technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retirement plan and financial services experience is strongly preferred.
  • A drive to maximize efficiency through exception-driven resolution processes.

  • Ability to cultivate relationships with a variety of internal partner platforms and stakeholders.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
