Pay range: USD $103,500.00 - $180,000.00 / Year

Your opportunity

The Cloud Senior Engineer Lead will have the opportunity to help shape the next generation Cloud solutions for Charles Schwab & Co. The ideal candidate will have experience in large scale cloud service design to protect virtualized workloads across a variety of technology and service domains. This will be hands-on design, engineering and support of Schwab's architectures applied to our initiatives. This role is for someone who sees themselves as a cloud practitioner with technology domain expertise.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience working within Enterprise IT.
  • 5+ years' highly technical experience with cloud design in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • 1+ years' experience running production workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • 5+ years' experience with infrastructure as code tools including Terraform.
  • 5+ years' experience with scripting tools (Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, related degree OR related practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design experience in secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Big Data, AI/ML, or Event Streaming/Messaging and Orchestration.
  • Coding proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Salt or similar automation tools as all provisioning includes Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Extensive experience building, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure through GitOps workflows and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience with defining quality standards and ensuring code releases exceed those standards.
  • Advanced trouble shooting capabilities and operational experience with cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with Cloud Security products and following secure design principles.
  • Working proficiency with SCM and DevOps tool suites; examples include Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Concourse etc.
  • Experience in the development of policy and operational processes to insure high availability and service of entire technology stack.
  • Experience working with development and security architects to determine project requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.
  • Experience with supporting mission critical, 24x7 systems.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, experience adopting or leading continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and frameworks.
  • Google Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solution Architect or similar Cloud Provider Certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
