This position sits within our Data-Driven Communications team, a group that leverages well-defined programs through well-managed capabilities and platforms to achieve Schwab's marketing goals.
Data-Driven Communications manages four programs: Marketing Automation, Lead Management, Connected Experiences, and Marketing Data Management, each of which supports several lines of business across the firm, including both Retail and Institutional. Each program is enabled by multiple capabilities such as Lead Capture, Campaign Enablement, Preference Management, and Data Mapping. Data-Driven Communications also manages several platforms that deliver these programs. The Platform Steward will be a skilled, Marketo or Salesforce Marketing Cloud certified user, experienced in campaign development and content building. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in liaising between the platform administration teams, platform end users and technical support teams. This role requires a deep understanding of both technical and strategic aspects of the platforms, as well as the ability to interpret requests, communicate requirements and develop solutions to meet our B2B and B2C marketing goals. The ideal candidate should be a proactive problem solver with a strong grasp of marketing concepts, technical proficiency, Schwab data and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with internal teams and stakeholders on development projects as they arise
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise with the overall functionality of the DDC platforms we own and use daily
- Develop, improve, and document processes that are integral in the operation of the platforms
- Maintain the overall campaign hygiene in concert with the Platform Admin team, including helping to remove test or empty data schemas, working with the Marketing Automation Capability owner to test automations, archive old/unused campaign objects, etc.
- Help identify and implement email best practices in both targeting and creative build of campaigns
- Work with the Platform Specialists to monitor and identify ways to improve deliverability and sender reputation
- Develop any marketing or service / regulatory campaign templates as necessary to help support the team both in terms of audience targeting and HTML email template development
- Create a repository for commonly used campaign code, campaign reference snippets, etc.
- Develop and improve documentation on how to complete various campaign management tasks within SFMC and Workfront
- Identify opportunities for optimization testing within email creative and targeting, as well as areas where campaigns could be personalized, and implement those changes
- Vet requests made by end users through gathering of requirements and where necessary, submit JIRA stories and epics to our technical teams in conjunction with the Platform Admin team
- Serve as the UAT and QA point of contact for submitted requests as well as complex campaign QA requests

Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and 5 years or more work experience working with Digital Communication Platforms, specifically Marketo and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud in a Campaign or Publishing role
- Expert understanding of the Campaign Management and Publishing roles as they pertain to digital marketing
- Experience with large data models and able to relate business requirements to the end placement of data for consumer use
- Strong oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills
- A proven track record of development within Digital Communication Platforms, supporting end user functions
- Ability to quickly pivot between several priorities including campaign development, asset publishing, IT interface, technical story writing, UAT and QA
- Ability to directly enter Stories and Epics directly in JIRA.
- Active Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist and/or Marketo Certified Professional certification(s)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 plus years directly working with Schwab data
- 8 years or more of combined use and development within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Marketo
- Strong knowledge of SCRUM
- Served in in an administration or platform support role
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Marketo Practitioner certified
