The Managing Director, Digital Wealth Planning and Performance leads the teams responsible for delivering the holistic experience and delivery for Wealth Planning and Performance Reporting on behalf of Schwab's Retail and Wealth Advisory clients and associated FC/rep experiences. This leader is accountable for the digital product, platforms and offer teams across these two critical spaces with end-to-end accountability to define the offers, develop the platforms / data infrastructure and oversee the offers, while also launching new products and capabilities that can scale for the firm.

Key Outcomes:
- Define the strategic offer and platform direction for broad wealth planning at Schwab, ensuring we can serve clients seeking sophisticated specialty planning like estate and tax planning capabilities, alongside core financial planning services and retirement income.
- Maintain and drive efficiency, leveraging across our people and technology ecosystem enabling our Wealth Strategies Group team of CFPs and rep-assisted plans, as well as self-directed client experiences.
- Build future state experiences for reps and across all client segments, partnering with client-facing and offers leaders of specialty planning capabilities.
- Creating an infrastructure to serve as the central repository for all planning related data and drive and deliver healthy scalable, reliable, and efficient financial planning and performance platforms unlocking data access for financial planning, specialty wealth topics enabling digital self-managed portfolio tools and insights for investors.
- Provide industry-leading wealth planning perspectives to enable planning expansion goals
- Lead our performance reporting capabilities for retail and wealth advisory across Portfolio Health, Portfolio Checkup, and other associated rep and advisor facing reporting experiences.
- Set the digital product strategy and driving initiatives through leading highly performing, aligned offer and product teams.
- Partner closely across senior MDs, technical and data leaders to ensure investments are future-proofed and able to scale for Schwab over the coming decade with a particular focus on establishing a new planning data domain.
- Ensure continuous process improvement and extension of wealth experiences across different segments.
- Work closely with external vendors, to ensure we can quickly and effectively integrate into the ecosystem, navigating operational challenges, and drive external accountable in support of timely, flawless delivery.
- Collaborate with a broad range of risk partners, internal and external legal counsel and directly with regulators as we introduce new capabilities and innovations to the marketplace.
What you have
Required Experience:
- 10+ years' experience in building, shaping and leading digital wealth platforms, products and offers in a wealth management environment of similar scale and complexity.
- A passion for building robust capabilities and scaling across multiple channels and experience and track record of maintaining and scaling sophisticated digital wealth products.
- Deep knowledge of the technologies delivering wealth management and their risk frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate degree is a plus.
- Track record of designing and implementing end to end experiences achieving superior results for the end user at scale
- Experience in successfully gathering data and synthesizing insights to understand client needs, attitudes, and emotions and inform design and positioning of products and services
- Leadership and relationship-building skills, including ability to influence and build consensus across experience design, product, technology, marketing, regulatory, and other areas of the firm and all levels of the organization.

- Ability to build strong relationships through collaboration across multiple levels of the organization motivating colleagues to get things done effectively; is sought out for counsel and feedback and contributes to cross-functional teams and initiatives.

- Ability to make significant progress with minimal direction and to make decisions, pivot, and structure pathways forward in the face of ambiguity
- Highly developed communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.
- Strong people leader who enables leaders and their high-performing teams
- Effective relationship builder - ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Effective in managing business risk through assessing risk probability and impact, developing processes for risk mitigation and detection in rollout and test plans, and scenario planning.
- Strong preference for CFP, CFA and/or a series 24.
