The Inferential and Predictive Analytics (IPA) team is looking for a Java lead developer to manage, maintain and further enhance an internally developed Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, which enables model developers to deploy R and Python models over the company's intranet. This is an individual contributor role.

In current installation, the platform works as a traffic cop managing the information to move across an R model development team, interest rate risk management team and PolyPaths team in an automated manner. In a future installation, the platform will host the Python models consuming the data from Google Cloud Platform.

  • Design and implement microservices using Java Spring Boot and other modern technologies like R, Python to support mission critical applications.
  • Develop strong relationships with business and technical partners.
  • Resolve technical problems quickly and in line with platform strategy and vision.
  • Document technical designs and data engineering pipelines/workflows.
  • Create, maintain, and ensure adherence to development, coding, testing and automation standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations.
  • Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail & the ability to design, execute & maintain strategic goals & metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • BS computer science / information technology / engineering.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with at least 10 years of experience.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Java, Python, Flask, Green Unicorn, MS SQL Server, Oracle Database, Google Cloud Platform, Google Big Query, Spark, Hadoop, Salt Script, Bash Script.
  • Experience with Schwab programs and processes
  • Experience with Agile and Continuous Integration software development methodologies.
  • Experience with Bitbucket, GitHub, Bamboo or similar version control software.
  • Strong documentation skills with ability to develop and maintain technical documents.
  • Experience with POSIT products like R, RSConnect, creating and maintaining Conda environments for R and Python.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
