This role sits in the Advisor Services Service Readiness and Quality Solutions Organization, responsible for service team learning and development.

As an Instructional Designer and Project Manager you will be responsible for owning the design and development of content that will support our AWS Service and WST audiences. You will have the opportunity to partner with varying organizations to create training experiences for all ranges of tenured professionals.

This position will be a key contributor to Institutional strategic priorities. Success will result in transforming the way Service Professionals learn, develop, and are measured to support performance growth. Scalability will be a critical component of success and thus this role will need to lean into the possibilities of generative AI and other technology solutions that can amplify performance impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with stakeholders to analyze learning needs and gain alignment on what and how training objectives will be accomplished.
  • Bring the perspective of the adult learner into conversations with business partner and in the development of content.
  • Managing projects and leading the innovation efforts necessary to continue to provide the most effective, well-rounded training for our Service and WST audience.
  • Lead projects from original concept through to completion, interacting with cross-site teams, internal stakeholders, technology partners, as well as business partners and leaders across the organization.
  • Conduct project meetings and responsible for project tracking, status reports, and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to Schwab brand, quality, and audit guidelines.
  • Develop appropriate timelines for deliverables and be held accountable to milestone dates

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience with a focus in Learning & Development, Project Management Tools, Training, and Instructional Design.
  • Experience implementing various training and development practices and methods, including needs assessments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to instructor-led and web-based training.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with WebEx, MS Teams, sumtotal, iKnow SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in eLearning Development tools, in particular Articulate Storyline, Rise350 and Camtasia.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in Financial Services is preferred.
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with leadership and team members.
  • Proficiency to anticipate and resolve problems under your own initiative while also working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to embrace, pivot and shift focus based on changing priorities and/or the business environment and champion innovative ideas.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing priorities within established timeframes.
  • Professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and teamwork.
  • Executive presence and demonstrated ability to partner with and influence leadership.
  • Ability to balance working independently and managing up appropriately.
  • A keen understanding and interest in performance data and metrics.
