The Specialist in Cost Basis Operations will provide dedicated support and technical expertise to Schwab clients. Our mission is to provide prompt, thorough, and complete service through collaborative partnerships with Partner Support, Investor Services, Advisor Services, and the Accommodations groups. Additionally, we provide work-item escalation support to these groups in responses from client and field inquiries. We're searching for experienced, team-focused individuals to own prioritized work items pertaining to households with wealth over 10 million dollars at Charles Schwab and to premium advisors. Below outlines a summary of additional responsibilities for this role:
- Provide exceptional, prompt, and thorough service to our ultra-high net worth clients and advisors when researching cost basis inquiries and processing cost basis updates.
- Exhibit a passion for client service, positive energy, and problem-solving skills to assist Schwab clients fulfill their requests.
- Engage in a dialogue to identify additional needs and present effective help and influence solutions.
- Establish clear points of contact for one-stop resolution and for ongoing support and escalations.
- Demonstrate flexibility and work collaboratively with other team members to deliver high quality service and meet client expectations.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively by balancing high productivity with excellent service quality.
- Understanding of Cost Basis IRS regulations when processing client requests - taking into consideration, business, brand, financial, and regulatory risk.
What you have
- 2+ years of experience within Cost Basis Operations preferred
- Series 7, 63 or 66 preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
- Experience working in financial services industry.
- Solid analytical skills and ability to multi-task to perform multiple complex tasks with a strong level of attention to detail; Can operate with little instructions on day-to-day work with general direction on assignments.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, ability to work with large data sets.
- Proven tax and cost basis experience and knowledge framework.
- Expertise in tax and cost basis reporting topics, such as impact of return of capital transactions, corporate actions, fixed income amortization/accretion, etc.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
