Position Summary
This project manager will oversee designated, enterprise-wide projects for Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). The project manager coordinates, documents, and assigns tasks for the project team and provides the team with direction and support. Managing the budget, timeline, and resources for the project are also required. The project manager communicates progress with executive sponsorship and key stakeholders, monitors problems, works with the project team to provide collaborative solutions, and implements changes as necessary to ensure the project timeline is followed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates structured schedules and project plans based on the project goals, resources needed, potential risks, time to market and budget constraints.
  • Oversees and monitors progress on complex and/or multiple projects relative to schedules, budgets and quality.
  • Defines, documents and manages programs and projects, actively participating in all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Develops and communicates clear and actionable deliverables, or activities to be completed.
  • Conducts project team meetings to provide status updates and identify and resolve issues.
  • Manages the overall process of carrying out the project and adapt plans based on evolving needs, conditions or issues that may arise and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with the stated project goals.
  • Maintains adequate project controls to ensure projects deliver agreed benefits and return on investment.
  • Effectively manages project team conflicts, builds collaborative partnerships with stakeholders and facilitate commitment and decision-making.
  • Effectively communicate project updates to Executive Sponsors and other stakeholders including raising issues and problems and providing solutions to move the project forward.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of related experience which includes two (2) years directly related experience in budget management.
