Position Summary
Perform all levels of electrical work for renovations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and new construction for electrical wiring and lighting systems. You will report to the Maintenance Manager of Main Campus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Read blueprints or technical diagrams before performing work.
- Review and prioritize work orders.
- Installs, maintains, tests, inspects, and repairs electrical control, wiring, transformers, circuit breakers, lighting systems, and other electrical equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations such as power outages, damaged or nonfunctional electrical components.
- Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment and lighting systems for hazards, adjustments, or replacements.
- Repair and replace wiring, equipment or fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Comply with state and local building regulations based on the national Electric Code.
- Adjust lighting time clocks throughout the year.
- Coordinate with Contractors to install and repair electrical wiring, lighting or equipment.
- Help project managers review electrical specifications and contractor performance at beginning and end of projects.
- Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Certificate of Completion from an accredited trades programs with at least 144 hours of related technical training;
- Five (5) years of apprentice or journeyman experience; and 2080 hours of on-the-job commercial electrician experience.
- Experience cannot substitute for a required trades license, as CNM must comply with NM Construction Industry Division regulations.
- NM EE98 Journeyman license.
- This position requires a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
