Position Summary
The Business Analyst creates and defines scope and goals based on both user needs and a thoughtful understanding of business systems, technology available and industry requirements. The business analyst provides insights and suggest improvements to our software applications. You will partner with the software development teams and perform detailed requirement's analysis, documenting processes and coordinating unit, integration and acceptance tests. The business analyst enhances the quality of products and services, analyzing data to inform our decisions, and finding technical solutions to needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work

  • Develop procedures to solve complex business problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, and operation time.
  • Have full technical knowledge of all phases of systems analysis and consider the business possible effects of the application of technology to our business environment.
  • Develop and maintain written project documentation such as; applications, including best practices, processes, user-friendly procedures, project scope, business process document, RACI, and RAID(l) logs.
  • Develops and maintains written documentation such as test plans, user stories, use cases, business process model and notation, in collaboration with users.
  • Develop and maintain written documentation of technological system(s), application(s), and web projects including modifications, enhancements, problems, interfaces, and data dictionary maintenance.
  • Participate in goals, shaping them in clear and understandable terms, and identifying and evaluating a range of solutions.
  • Develops user-friendly procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Provide training for end-users.
  • Develop and enhance reports to verify and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all system data, in collaboration with users and subject matter experts.
  • Provides data analyses and ad-hoc reporting through the use of research and query tools.
  • Researches functional work requirements and recommends solutions for automating and enhancing business processes.
  • Responsible for operational tasks within department such as system maintenance and configuration, troubleshooting/diagnostic, and other forms of translating business rules into system logic.
  • Work with the Information Technology Department staff to define requirements in the creation, upgrading, and maintenance of programs, databases, and reports.
  • Support the review, testing, and implementation of business systems upgrades or patches.
  • Help develop business process documentation.
  • Run mission-critical processes that influence the college.
  • Participate in planning discussions to offer technical and practical business perspective. Attend collaborative team meetings.
  • Compile required metrics by managing multiple data sources. Review and find ways to improve current processes for greater efficiencies and reduction in non-value added activities working in partnership with important partners internal and external to Purchasing.
  • Generate, distribute, and maintain concise set of standard reports that provide insight into operational statistics, performance, and trending.
  • Participate in a team that develops software applications and interfaces. Researches system problems. Test systems and database functions, upgrades and patches, and new third-party software or hardware implementation to ensure functioning of systems.
  • Create and distribute Structured Query Language (SQL) and other related reports.
  • Monitor student database for data accuracy, conformity, integrity and interrelationship, research and recommendations on data integrity issues.
  • Coordinate data entry standards for Credit and Non-Credit areas of the college, technical support and training for ERP, SIS, LMS end-users.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • OR
  • Associate's Degree and four (4) years of related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • OR
  • PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification and one (1) year of related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • OR
  • Other industry-recognized certifications directly related to the responsibilities of the position and six (6) years related experience including systems implementation experience.
  • AND
  • Professional experience with Banner, Salesforce, or Workday ERP configuration and reporting.
