Position Summary
Works with internal and external partners to promote the mission of the college, foster academic achievement, and provide guidance and support to students as students make thoughtful educational choices. Plans, directs, and implements programs designed to improve CNM enrollment, student retention, and success. Directly responsible for tasks related to persistence, retention, and graduation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Interpret and analyze data to support student enrollment, persistence, retention, and graduation
- Monitor student academic progress, implement intervention strategies, and prepares reports
- Plans, coordinates, and implements services that are designed to improve students' retention and graduation
- Provide academic advisement for credit and non-credit programs
- Assist students with career exploration of academic options and set academic goals
- Maintain regular communication and outreach with at-risk student populations
- Help students navigate college and understand policies and procedures
- Provide internal CNM resources and external community resources to improve academic outcomes including persistence and completion.
- Provide transfer advisement support and understand higher education core and transfer requirements
- Coach students to appropriate solutions regarding their academic and professional goals
- Provide training and workshops for faculty, staff, and students
- Develops productive working relationships with success team members and academic affairs partners for cohesive student service
- Collaborate with other departments, divisions, and community partners (including but not limited to higher ed institutions, industry partners, and community support agencies)
- Participate in student recruitment, retention, and success efforts for the college
- May supervise work-study students
- Performs other related duties as assigned
