What you will be doing

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following outlines the primary duties and responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacist Consultant. These may be shared between pharmacy Senior Managers and Directors reporting to the Senior Director, Pharmacy Services and change from time to time at the discretion of the Senior Director, Pharmacy Services.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Pharmacy Services and Vice President, Specialty Operations (with input from the National Pharmacy Services Team and Pharmacy Management Team) on the strategic development and launch of pharmacy strategic goals, projects, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Pharmacy Services on monitoring and reporting of National Pharmacy Services Team budget (non-pharmacies).
  • Lead day-to-day activities of National Pharmacy Services Team functional area(s) or unit(s), as assigned by the Senior Director, Pharmacy Services; coordinate the implementation of team goals and objectives and oversee day-to-day operations on assigned projects, initiatives, tasks, etc.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of National Pharmacy Services Team associates in their day-to-day work and goals.
  • Lead and participate in project/initiative implementations, including procedures, training, KPI monitoring, etc.
  • Apply a focused depth of technical/performance management knowledge and broader-based operational and management expertise to ensure the success of pharmacy initiatives.
  • Demonstrate company values and positively contribute to the culture of the National Pharmacy Services Team and all Innomar pharmacy associates.
  • Hire and performance manage direct reports within the National Pharmacy Services Team; focusing on engagement, performance improvement, succession planning and growth & development.
  • Up to 20-30% of time required for travelling within Canada.
  • Act as an organizational role model; provide leadership and direction.
  • Collaborate with the entire pharmacy leadership team (VP, Senior Director, Director(s), co-Senior Managers, Regional Pharmacy Managers and Pharmacy Managers) to ensure clear understanding of team mission & goals.

Clinical Operations:

  • Lead the ongoing analysis, development/improvement, and implementation of nationally standardized clinical processes to ensure efficient and quality pharmacist services; make recommendations as to the priority of these services to Pharmacy and Innomar leadership/management.
  • Lead clinical pharmacy operations initiatives, such as compounding/clean room and clinical trials.
  • Lead pharmacy offerings of the Innomar Clinics Program (ICP) in collaboration with the Nursing & Clinics management team.
  • Lead and manage the pharmacy associates working under alternative pharmacy service delivery models (e.g., ICP, SPS).

Clinical Innovation and Client Relations:

  • Lead the National Pharmacy Services Team on the implementation of new pharmaceutical product launches with respect to pharmacist services across Canada.
  • Build relationships and coordinate/ liaise with internal/external clients and consultants for the development and implementation of strategic clinical initiatives and services.
  • Provide account management to physicians working under KOL pharmacy service delivery model.
  • Lead innovative clinical projects to meet pharmacy strategic goals and continue to move Innomar forward in the provision of efficient and quality pharmacist services.

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years' experience in Project Management, Pharmacy operations, Pharmacy Consulting or related activities;
  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists, expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the College of Pharmacists;
  • Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and collaborate with internal and external partners;
  • Experience with writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures, including pharmacy quality assurance practices;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Proven track record of maintaining high quality standards while working within tight deadlines;
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a Pharmacy-related discipline is a benefit;
  • Experience managing and implementing multiple concurrent projects;
  • Knowledge of KROLL and/or other Pharmacy software systems;
  • Bilingualism, French/English is an asset.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization;
  • Strong organizational skills with proven efficiency to handle multiple projects at one time, both independently and in a team-based environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written) with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Excellent listener, respects diversity of opinions and is open, clear, succinct in personal communication style;
  • Working familiarity with software: Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio);
  • Ability to organize and handle several different tasks at once;
  • Proven ability to organize time, set priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing; attention to detail and work deadlines;
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently;
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • As part of your job duties, you may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
