We're hiring the Senior Manager - Portfolio & Programme Office (PPMO) to join our Global IT team at Alliance Healthcare, Cencora based in the UK.

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this role is to drive the vision and strategy for the Alliance Healthcare Portfolio and Programme Management Office (PPMO) function, aligning it with Cencora's global PPMO strategy and supporting the key objectives of the IT function as directed by IT leadership.

The role involves contributing to the alignment of in-country PPMO teams with the global strategy, supporting the delivery of goals and objectives, and maintaining a comprehensive picture of ongoing and planned change across the Alliance Healthcare division. Overall, this role plays a crucial part in ensuring successful delivery of projects and programmes within Alliance Healthcare through effective portfolio and programme management practices.

JOB CONTEXT

In collaboration with the global Cencora Portfolio and Programme Management Office (PPMO), this role assumes responsibility for driving vision and strategy for PPMO organisation within Alliance Healthcare division. The Alliance Healthcare business is embarking on an ambitious transformational agenda in the technology area, driven by organizational changes and a high demand for modernizing and secured IT landscape. To ensure the success of these initiatives application of standard and efficient project/programme management processes are critical.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the vision and strategy for the Alliance Healthcare PPMO function, ensuring alignment with Cencora's global PPMO strategy and supporting the key objectives of the IT function as directed by IT leadership.
  • Contribute to aligning of the Alliance Healthcare in-country PPMO teams with the global strategy.
  • Support the delivery of goals and objectives as required, including working with each team to define action plans, monitoring execution, and providing guidance for course correction when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a single comprehensive picture of the in-flight programmes and projects across the Alliance Healthcare division, providing the insight into:
  • The scale, type, and complexity of on-going and planned change
  • Levels of committed and planned financial investments
  • Overall health of the portfolio
  • Focus may include, but is not limited to, governance documentation, standard processes and procedures, best practice implementation, PPMO and governance tools, reporting, training and development, and financial management.
  • Act as a Super User of the Alliance Healthcare PPM tool, providing support to in-market teams for tool adoption, process enhancement, and configuration tailored to PMO needs.
  • Manage day-to-day administration of the Alliance Healthcare PPM tool, engaging vendor's support team as required. This includes:
  • addressing user queries and requests,
  • maintaining a knowledge base of tool processes and usage guides,
  • providing on-demand training,
  • supporting project and financial governance/reporting processes.
  • Manage Alliance Healthcare PPM tool vendor relationships, their performance and costs. Oversee contract renewal or termination process.
  • Establish strong relationships with IT leadership and stakeholders. Coordinate their engagement and communication as needed for transparent and effective management of key Alliance Healthcare initiatives.
  • Oversee initiation and governance of key initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards that promote successful delivery.
  • Contribute to PPMO community by sharing experiences, collecting learnings from key projects and programme, informing future initiatives, and driving relevant improvements.
  • Advocates and leads continuous improvement of project management methodology in a multi-modal program / product / project delivery environment.

What your background should look like

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required.

SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Familiarity with PPM tools, experience in either implementing PPM tools or acting as a super user supporting the user community with the tool adoption and continuous improvements.
  • Analytical skills to be able to develop comprehensive picture of on-going initiatives, process improvement mindset to be able to contribute to project management and PMO processes improvements.
  • Organisational awareness and experience working in large matrix companies to be able to understand organisational dynamics and navigate complex structures effectively.
  • Leadership skills to effectively coordinate effort across cross functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
  • Excellent organisational skills to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Able to influence strategic decisions through effective communication methods.
  • Able to provide clear and reliable communications using multiple media formats.

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of IT work experience, including 7 or more years managing projects and at least 5 years of leadership experience
  • Strong background in project management, including experience defining PMO strategies and processes, managing resources, and overseeing project delivery.
  • Working within strict tight deadlines to ensure a timeline execution of the programme.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

TRAVEL

This role is UK-based but sometimes may require travel to other business unit within the Group. Main UK location would be Woking.
