The Data Engineer II is primarily responsible for ensuring the provision of accurate and pertinent data in support of the Legal and Compliance departments. This role involves the extraction and analysis of data from multiple databases/platforms while leveraging skills such as proficiency in SQL & SAP Business Objects as well as knowledge on Wholesale Distribution Customer Sales and Payments and Plant Receipts and Returns. The Data Engineer II plays a pivotal role in conceptualizing, designing, and developing analytics models and related team proceduresto address intricate business challenges and uncover insights for internal and external stakeholders. They facilitate a seamless user experience by furnishing easily accessible, synchronized, and reliable data. Additionally, the Data Engineer II conducts root-cause analyses and implements necessary corrective measures in response to data-related system issues. The Data Engineer II guides team members in using precise data validations and quality control methods to maintain data integrity and compliance.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Facilitates implementation of enhancements or changes to existing business analytics solutions, by helping translate business needs into semantic data access requirements
• Performs data mining exercises with vast data sets to find opportunities to grow sales, margin and market share via tele sales call campaigns, analyzes all pricing activities including discounts, allowances, programs, and contract price and develop recommendations to improve profitability and mix
• Validates data sources, data quality, data transformation and data aggregation
• Analyzes data inaccuracies, identifies opportunities and supports the development of automated solutions to enhance overall quality of the enterprise data
• Works with data stewards to gather requirements on merging, de-duping, cleansing rules
• Ensures and maintains a high level of data integrity by using tools to monitor and mass update data changes
• Ensures that the information is named properly and defined consistently across the organization
• Identifies opportunities for reuse of data across the enterprise
• Monitors data dictionary statistics, analyzes reports of data duplicates or other errors to provide ongoing appropriate data reports
• Collaborates with different teams like Inside Sales, Finance and Sourcing in the development and preparation of performance forecasts, projections, and plans based upon numerous variables and data assumptions
• Identifies problematic areas and conducts research to determine the best course of action to correct the data, identifies, analyzes and interprets trends and patterns in complex datasets
• Performs quantification and impact analysis of existing or proposed operational policies, procedures and governance frameworks
• Assists in the coaching and training of business analytics solution users to enhance business decision-making capability
• Analyzes results of system audits to determine and report variations or problem areas, keen attention to detail including an ability to identify data anomalies
• Works cross-functionally with different departments to assess, define, and develop report deliverables
• Accurately codes variables from original information or data and completes statistical analyses as required

Experience:
- 4+ years of directly related experience in healthcare data analytics or data engineering.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Experience with BusinessObjects.
- Extensive background in Business Intelligence.
- Understanding of the complete distribution process, including purchases, sales, and payments.
- Previous mentoring experience.
Desired Skills:
- Background in pharmaceutical wholesale.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
