JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary/Objective

We are seeking a strategic Marketing Manager, Consumer Communications to lead and execute integrated communication strategies across all elements of the marketing mix. This role is responsible for ensuring a consistent, compelling and consumer-centric message across all touchpoints, driving brand engagement, customer acquisition, and brand loyalty. Additionally, this role will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of marketers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that drives business impact. The ideal candidate is a data-driven marketer with a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of consumer behavior, and experience managing multi-channel campaigns.

Essential Functions

 

Consumer Communication Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute consumer communication strategies that align with brand positioning, business goals and customer insights
  • Lead the creation of creative briefs to ensure consistency across all consumer-facing channels, including digital, social, email, SMS, in-store, and traditional media
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (brand, digital, creative, media, sales) to develop integrated marketing campaigns
  • Optimize messaging and content to drive awareness, engagement and conversion at every stage of the customer journey

 

Campaign Management & Go-to-Market Execution

  • Oversee the development and execution of omnichannel marketing campaigns, ensuring seamless integration across all platforms
  • Partner with media, creative and agency teams to deliver high-impact campaigns that resonate with target audiences
  • Manage campaign calendars, ensuring alignment with product launches, promotions and seasonal marketing efforts
  • Develop test-and-learn plans to continuously refine messaging, creative strategies, and channel mix for optimal performance

 

Content Development & Storytelling

  • Lead the development of compelling content that reinforces brand storytelling and consumer engagement
  • Work closely with creative teams to produce high-quality assets, including video, social, email and website content
  • Ensure all consumer communications are aligned with our brand tone, voice, and visual identity as well as Verizon’s brand guidelines and key manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, Google and Motorola

 

Consumer Insights & Performance Optimization

  • Analyze consumer behavior, market trends, and campaign performance to inform marketing decisions
  • Leverage data and insights to refine messaging, creative strategies, and channel effectiveness
  • Partner with analytics and agency teams to measure campaign effectiveness and consumer sentiment
  • Develop and present monthly performance reports with actionable recommendations to key stakeholders

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor and develop a talented team of marketers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Provide clear direction, coaching and performance feedback to help team members grow and achieve their goals
  • Build and scale team capabilities to meet evolving business needs, identifying opportunities for skill development and career progression
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration to maximize impact and efficiency across marketing initiatives

 

Stakeholder & Budget Management

  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to drive executional excellence
  • Own and track the consumer communications budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Present strategies, results and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

 

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

  1. 4-year Degree
  2. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
  3. 10+ years of experience in consumer marketing, brand communications or related roles
  4. Proven experience across key marketing disciplines including digital, email, SMS, social media, paid advertising, SEO, and content marketing with the ability to coach and develop teams in these areas
  5. Strong understanding of the marketing mix with experience executing integrated campaigns and developing consumer messaging strategies
  6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive insights-based decision-making
  7. Strong experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing marketing teams while fostering a culture of creativity and accountability
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling consumer messaging
  9. Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives
  10. Experience working with creative teams and managing agency partners
