The Microsoft EDU Technical Architect is responsible for working in collaboration with the Edu Product Development team to drive technical strategy for core technologies within the CDW Amplified for Education portfolio. Design and develop capabilities (supporting internal delivery and external custom tooling) that enable and empower Education customers to get the most outof their Edtech investments. Additionally, the Microsoft EDU Technical Architect will work with various teams across CDW to run POCs and projects to enhance and standardize both internal and external CDW Education solutions.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Builds Proofs Of Concept in connection with Microsoft Roadmaps to validate possible service/SaaS development.
  • Assesses internal Delivery team processes and identifies areas for improvement. Design and implement tooling automations and processes to streamline delivery processes.
  • Collaborates with Edu Product Development team to define and validate technical solutions and capabilities for Microsoft Collaboration solutions.
  • Collaborates with the Microsoft for Education team to identify and develop new services and solutions to help build value added services
  • Define and document investigations around best practices across core CDW Amplified for Education Portfolio
  • Evangelism of core technology pertaining to CDW Amplified for Education portfolio
  • Identify emerging practice opportunities within the partner technology landscape
  • Assists with large technical Edu custom projects as needed to identify new opportunities for scalable solutions.
  • Discover and identify customer requirements and build custom engagements leveraging the best of services and products
  • Provide technical support and consulting both internally and externally to clients
  • Key SME for solutions centered around SDS, Intune for Education, Co-pilot for Education, and Teams for Education
    Other Responsibilities

  • Stay current on Microsoft Education solution changes and modifications

  • Work to support customers as needed if escalated from the support team
  • Deliver on all Service Delivery products as needed or applicable

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Min 3+ years managing a technical team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in addition to the required experience requirement (Background as a Technology Director, Technology Coordinator, or similar role may be considered)
  • Min 5+ Years managing Microsoft for Education
  • Scripting experience (node.js, python, APIs, etc)
    Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft for Education admin console and Microsoft APIs

  • 3+ years professional systems administration experience
  • An ability to balance and plan the short-term and long-term actions of the team
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to think creatively and come up with proactive ideas that will add value to customers and partners
  • Strong passion for learning and teaching others
    Preferred Qualifications

  • Convey technical information and recommendations clearly and concisely

  • Create engaging presentations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with large schools in K12 or higher Education
  • Experience working with State level organizations (Departments of Education or Education agencies)
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Monday/Jira
