As the Systems Engineer II, you will maintain, administer, and optimize CDW's messaging and collaboration platforms and services. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Exchange services, email routing, and Microsoft's O365 infrastructure is necessary as you collaborate with all peers and internal business partners to ensure positive outcomes.
What you will do:

  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated Office 365 issues and mobile support-related incidents for CDW coworkers. Providing end-user incident support on complex issues.
  • Create, maintain, and modify email-enabled objects (including mailboxes, distribution lists, and Office 365 groups).
  • Help maintain departmental and end-user documentation as it relates to collaboration and messaging
  • Investigate and report on new features and technologies.
  • Work off hours and weekends as instructed by the business.
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
  • Patch management and various on-prem server operating systems.
  • Follow CDW's policies, standard methodologies, and guidelines for the messaging and collaboration team.
  • Communicate effectively with the Technology Service Desk and associated Business Partners.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of the messaging and collaboration team's ecosystem.
  • Provide advice and guidance on operational issues and mentor lower-level engineers.
  • Provide advanced support for CDW's mobility and MDM services.
  • Collaborate with business owners to complete project requirements.
  • Coordinate with IT Help Desk to communicate issue status and respond to questions
  • Act as a technical point of reference for and mentor junior engineers
  • Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot and repair outages
  • Monitor platforms for failures and performance problems

What we expect of you:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of IT systems management and Microsoft O365 and Exchange services support.
  • Intermediate understanding of cloud technologies (Office 365 and Google Workspace).
  • Basic knowledge of design principles for cloud technologies.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports and work-related manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • A College degree in a technical track, a plus
  • Understanding of Identity Access Management (Azure SSO,), a plus.
  • Intermediate understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and AAD Connect, a plus.
  • Intermediate understanding of server security concepts and hardening practices, a plus
  • ITIL, a plus
  • Technical certifications associated with the chosen professional track, such as Microsoft MS-900 and MS-203, a plus.
  • Intermediate PowerShell scripting, a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, a plus
