Job Summary
The Sr Consulting Engineer will integrate and deliver a wide range of technology solutions providing high quality content deliverables ensuring solution is implemented as designed to the client's satisfaction and approval.
What you will do:
• Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in primary job family and knowledge of related technical job families.
• Conducts advanced and complex engineering-related studies researching current and emerging technologies, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and presents reports to management.

• Regularly interface with technical and business staff of customers, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements.
• Mentors other engineers to apply engineering background knowledge for project design, analysis, and project coordination of services or products • Work with Professional Services Managers, ATAE's, Project Managers and customers to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met.
• Maintains client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor. • Serves as a collaborative support across internal teams and clients when necessary, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively to all parties.
• Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements. • Participates in a variety of sales activities.
• Provides technical expertise in the analysis of client's requirements and objectives to develop IT services offerings that provide significant value to the geography, which also includes recommending solutions and assisting account teams with development of proposals, quotations, and presentations.
• Supports engagements across multiple geographies. • Monitors and manages day-to-day operations of assigned complex projects including developing short and long-range goals, objectives, and budgets.
• Leads mid-size engagements with more mature products or packaged solutions or will lead smaller projects with newer single technology: o Will lead portions of larger more complex projects with oversight from more skilled/tenured resource.
• Mentors other engineers to apply engineering background knowledge for project design, analysis, and project coordination of services or products. Has the ability to prioritize and multitask appropriately. • Provides input on technical details required for the project planning, interfaces well with PM and project teams. Ability to assist clients design new business processes to best use the technology being implemented.
• Conducts advanced and complex engineering-related studies researching current and emerging technologies, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and presents reports to management.
• Able to troubleshoot complex, multi-technology, multi-vendor solutions and provide guidance on how to address issues. Knows how to work with various vendor support teams including ability to escalate issues within that vendor.
• Expert in a couple of technologies. Understands how other technologies interact with the technologies they have expertise with. • Understands client financial measurements, goals, and ROI. • Assists in hiring process with tech checks.
• Becoming expert in a single market segment. • Broad experience across many segments.
• Participates in building best practices.
What we expect of you:
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, a related technical degree or equivalent experience
• Five years' experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation, and support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with leadership stakeholders and clients.
• Professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners, and peers
• Proven ability to identify and deliver technical documentation that meets client defined expectations. • Strong attention to detail, especially client and project changes, with demonstrated analytical skills to identify potential risks.
• History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience applying lessons learned to unique problems. • History of reskilling on new technologies with ability to determine benefits for clients.
• Must be able and willing to work beyond their regularly scheduled shift, select weekends, overtime as necessary or on occasion to meet operational needs.
• Valid U.S. driver's license • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to other CDW locations or client sites.
