About the Role
Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for approximately $1.8B global purchase of goods and services related to the internal operations of CBRE. This portfolio includes all classic "indirect" Procurement categories such as consulting services, marketing services, real estate and facilities, financial services, human resource services, business process outsourcing, office supplies & equipment, benefits, insurance, travel, etc. Responsible for managing a global procurement team and collaborating with stakeholders, operational procurement teams and buyers in various lines of businesses and regions.
What You'll Do
- Manage the procurement of good and services across all global CBRE business units in the spend categories managed, leveraging the continuously growing baselines with the anticipated rapid growth of the business
- Work collaboratively with executive management, individual business units, functional stakeholders to ensure the alignment of sourcing strategies are communicated and leveraged across CBRE
- Establish beneficial working relationships with various internal groups across the organization including regional/country offices, line of business Procurement teams, legal, finance, HR, and others
- Develop category strategies, including market and industry analysis, and execution of strategic sourcing process
- Develop metrics, including external benchmarks, to monitor performance and allow for data driven decision making. Ensure that metrics, including benchmark data, and performance measurements directly support the corporate objectives and performance indicators.
- Develop reporting on spend, compliance, and operational KPI's
- Manage complex projects from conception through implementation, including business case development and change management
- Develop world class category strategies that will help CBRE on both an operational and strategic level
- Responsible for managing supplier risks and developing contingency plans
- Create and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to reduce procurement costs, to assure continuity of supply, to improve internal and external purchasing practices, and promote continuous improvement
- Conduct supplier performance management process for key CBRE suppliers
- Understand and monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors and geographic considerations, and strategic importance of critical commodities to implement appropriate sourcing strategies to control the company's purchased material costs and to assure an adequate supply of high-quality goods and services
- Contribute to CBRE goals for supplier diversity and sustainability
- Develop Procurement processes to ensure high efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement organization, with an emphasis on speed and agility
- Ensure ethical principles and standards of purchasing practices, and adherence to Procurement Policy

The selected candidate will have a successful track record of broad Procurement experience with proven measurable results, especially recognized as an end-to-end Procurement and Strategic Sourcing expert. The successful candidate will have a global perspective, strong analytical, organizational, negotiation and conceptual skills, decisiveness, and maturity. This individual will need strong business acumen. Demonstrated success as a change agent and transformation leader, problem solver and creative thinker are key criteria for final selection of this individual.
Must have very strong influencing skills to be able to affect and motivate indirect organizations and cultures across the global organization.
- Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred in business or related field (i.e.. economics or applicable field)
- MBA is preferred
- Entrepreneurial business leader with proven track-record of success and ability to bring innovation and new strategies to the function
- Strong strategic sourcing and procurement background with experience developing commodity strategies, leading cross functional teams on sourcing initiatives, negotiating service contracts across a wide set of clients across multiple industries and geographies
- Strong communication and change management skills with solid working knowledge of best practices, procurement systems, contract management and hands on experience driving various expense category savings solutions and process efficiencies
- Specific qualifications to include:
- Communicating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, educate them on savings opportunities, gain early procurement engagement, and provide timely status updates
- Experienced in establishing Policies and Procedures that will have to be adopted and maintained as the business needs evolve
- Desire and experience leveraging technology, systems, and AI or Automations
- Fifteen or more years of experience in the management of a procurement group with global experience
- Strong interpersonal, communications, and influencing skills to coach constituents within the organization
- Proven ability to build a strong competent team, developing professional roles and responsibilities and implementing effective procedural change to maximize efficiencies in the sourcing, fulfillment and contracting process.
