About The Role:
As a CBRE Union Engineer you will perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
What You'll Do:
- Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
- Coordinates and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes construction and all trades work.
- Performs assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes' maintenance and repair records as the need arises.
- Reviews assigned work orders.
- Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Maintains the base building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
- Performs light carpentry and locksmith tasks as needed.
- Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
- Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
- Finish the required Safety Training as scheduled.
- Align with Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours
- Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction for all building occupants.

- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four years of related experience or trade school training.
- Certificate of Qualification for Refrigerating System Operating Engineer (Q-01) is required.
- Preferred Certificates of Fitness from FDNY:
- S12 - Citywide Sprinkler Systems
- S13 - Citywide Standpipe Systems
- S14 - Standpipe Multi-Zone Systems
- S15 - Water Sprinkler System
- Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an inquisitive mentality, positive attitude

The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Engineer position is $103,916.80 annually [or $49.96 per hour]. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale. This role will provide the following benefits: Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
