JOB SUMMARY

As a CBRE Union Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations and performing various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for supporting, preventive maintenance, and repairing equipment and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety
  • Inspects building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operation is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client
  • Coordinates and inspects the work performed by outside contractors
  • Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning
  • Performs assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance-complete maintenance and repair records
  • Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair-orders materials and supplies to finish the tasks
  • Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems most efficiently to keep operating costs at a minimum & maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a diploma.

CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES

  • Universal CFC certification is preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Uses personal computer and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS, and training
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook
  • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Washington Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Union Building Engineer position is $75,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Union Building Engineer position is $89,544 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
