About the role

CBRE is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager to support our Project Management team with sustainability and wellness-building. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and demonstrate a successful history of working with decarbonization and net zero projects.

What you'll do

  • Identify strategies and solutions for clients that improve the performance and sustainability of the built environment and develop project-appropriate sustainability.
  • Project Supervision
  • Lead multiple projects independently, under the mentorship of senior teammates; and support senior teammates on complex projects.
  • Coordinate prime contractors in the field by anticipating upcoming work related to contractors and trades to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Prioritizing time to stay on track with billable activities, within project budgets and time allocations, and project prioritization.
  • Participate in monthly invoicing and financial projections for all project-related work.
  • Electrification of the estate: Lead the transition from fossil fuel-based energy sources to electrified solutions across the different USA sites, designing and executing strategies to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions, in line with company sustainability goals.
  • Carbon Reduction & Capacity: evaluate and implement new technologies, such as renewable energy systems, energy storage, and smart building solutions working with the Project Team and Operation Team to align electrification efforts with broader carbon reduction objectives. To meet the objectives, you will present feasibility studies for new energy technologies that enhance efficiency and reduce carbon with a focus on capacity.
  • Energy Efficiency & Technology: Analyze and monitor energy consumption across all USA locations, identify opportunities to optimize energy capacity, and improve operational efficiency. Developing energy-saving measures, including retrofits, equipment upgrades, and operational adjustments, you will track and report on energy usage, efficiency improvements, and carbon and cost savings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders and sustainability manager to negotiate and implement energy efficiency and electrification measures in all the USA locations as well as wider sustainability initiatives such as recycling and composting solutions.

What you'll need

  • BA/BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Environmental Science, or a combination of education and experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in electrification projects, heat pump installation, and HVAC system upgrades.
  • 4 years of professional experience leading sustainability and net zero building projects.
  • Experience handling data and sustainability project-related activities and life cycle analyses preferred.
  • Experience with net zero and decarbonization initiatives and different frameworks (SBTIs, CRREEM, etc.).
  • Understanding of the climate change policy, regulatory landscape, and ESG reporting and disclosure landscape
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
