About the role

Performs advanced-level, scheduled, and unscheduled troubleshooting/services on specialty equipment, instruments, and systems specific to the pharmaceutical research & development industry. Possesses the in-depth technical knowledge required for performing complex, analytical service procedures, instrument qualifications, and calibration tasks.

This role requires travel including local/ regional travel

Location: Los Angeles and Orange County

What you'll do

  • Perform installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and IQ/OQ/PQ services on multi-vendor analytical instruments (e.g., Agilent, Waters, Shimadzu, Thermo, and Sciex) at customer locations or in-house.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operational problems on the following lab equipment (and/or equipment of similar complexity): GC, GC/MS, LC/MS (Single Quad and Triple Quad), ICPMS, HPLC/UPLC, All Associated OEM Chromatography Software Platforms, Related peripherals, e.g., headspace & autosampler.
  • Fixes/services or resolves problems while performing unscheduled work, as necessary.
  • Records and reports abnormal functions or out-of-tolerance conditions of equipment and initiates corrective action and documentation.
  • Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, calibrates, and maintains instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.
  • Documents daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Manages relationships with customers.
  • Completes service report on each service ticket completion.
  • Train customers and other service representatives on maintenance tasks
  • Participates in the growth of the region and company.

What You'll Need

  • Must complete QMS training assigned to position title.
  • Must meet lawfully required customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include but are not limited to post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs.
  • Ability to travel to various locations daily and interact with a broad range of clientele.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Education/Training/Knowledge:

  • 7+ years of field service experience is highly preferred.
  • Service knowledge of GC, HPLC/UPLC, GC/MS & LC/MS is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in science (chemistry, analytical chemistry biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar) preferred or High School Diploma or equivalent experience with lab experience required.
  • Knowledge of lab practices, standard concepts, and test procedures for analytical instruments.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Field Service Engineer position is $115,000 annually and the maximum salary for the $150,000 position is annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
