About the role
Under general to broad supervision, manages and allocates ICP and ROC teams' infrastructure resources by monitoring and maintaining system platforms in support of CBRE's information technology operations. Provides full-stack development and management solutions for wide area network (WAN) systems. SQL management based on different data source (protocols) and data stream quality check including data lake administrative work. Will manage data ingestion, warehousing, integrity from IoT sensors and Smart Building systems. Must serve as technical lead for projects with complex requirements. Must also install and administer application software and manage the middleware component.
What you'll do
- Understand data sources in building management systems, describe and understand data lineage, and ensure data suitability for various use cases.
- Perform data mining as an OLAP SME to support internal and external projects.
- Write and optimize SQL statements for data access and retention, and analyze, solve, and correct database-related issues in real time.
- Design and develop database systems, writing stored procedures, views, functions, tables, and triggers to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor database performance parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users.
- Perform database migrations and data alignment between multiple datasets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system service failures by identifying and analyzing issues and providing corrective actions.
- Work with the team in installing and validating new software releases, hardware system upgrades, and patches.
- Monitor smart building systems activities, fine-tune system parameters, and ensure system security.
- Provide authentication support for EDLP and Azure components, including DevOps and serverless SQL platform management.
- Manage Azure subscriptions, security, access, health, and costs.
- Collaborate with developers on database design, query tuning, and schema refinement.
- Support ad-hoc reporting by collecting requirements from stakeholders and building out automated reports.
- Manage and maintain hardware, software, security, and connectivity to the Internet and middleware components.
- Manage cross-network databases and Azure Data Factory Pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL (DBA, ETL), PowerShell Scripting and Azure Data Platform.
- Experience with API Database integrations, data management, and manipulation.
- Building data quality assurance processes using multi-data source comparisons.
- Approve system designs and function as a project lead as required.
- Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines for technology solutions, including architecting and implementing solutions.
- Provide senior-level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding systems architecture and evaluate existing solutions and infrastructure.
- Comfortable raising system risks to upper leadership and working in an agile, collaborative environment with changing delivery needs and expectations.
- Juggle multiple deliveries simultaneously, ensuring continued status updates.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently troubleshoot common issues and complete routine tasks.
- No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to co-workers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of junior employees.

What you'll need
- Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field of work or equivalent work experience. Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes. Typically has 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience in SQL database administration and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Senior SQL Database Systems Engineer position is 107,500.00 annually [or $51.68 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Senior SQL Database Systems Engineer position is $125,000.00 annually [or $60.09 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
