About the role

As a CBRE Security Manager, you will lead all aspects of the team responsible for the security operations at a HQ Research & Development property.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Function as the point of contact for ongoing communication with Building Services staff about site operations. Collaborate with department managers to resolve security needs.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Global Security standards as well as local security policies & procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.
  • Coordinate budgets for security operations.
  • Run and lead all aspects of security staff including Security Officers, SOC Operators and off-duty LEO response team.
  • Coordinate response for emergencies and incidents.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in security operations and solutions.
  • Serve as point of contact for security systems at client site.
  • Handle life cycle replacement of security systems.
  • Lead security vendors and coordinate repairs of security hardware.
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of programs and policies, including access control, visitor management program, and key control.
  • Coordinate with key customers and leadership to ensure physical security needs are met at client site.
  • Perform audits associated with client operating procedures, physical security systems, and key control.
  • Assist client Health, Safety & Environment department as directed by local leadership.
  • Support account and account leadership in achieving compliance and quality objectives around security operations.
  • Develop and implement strategic security initiatives and projects in coordination with local leadership.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships and rapport with key internal team members and external partners.
  • Support and contribute to the site business continuity planning ensuring timely response to incidents to minimize business disruption.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, procurement, implementation, and management of physical security operations.
  • Manage key supplier relationships across the account.
  • Assist in developing standard procedures and key documentation.
  • Develop key performance indicators and lead performance metrics for security vendors.
  • Maintain regular performance review meetings with account leadership and security vendors.
  • Liaison with internal or external auditors for security and compliance audits.

What you'll need

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Criminal Justice, Security, Law Enforcement, Business Management or equivalent education or experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience leading security operations.
  • Knowledge of operational security delivery, including technical experience with access control and video surveillance technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security.
  • Experience in vendor contract management and budget negotiations, as well as possessing a well-established network within the security profession.
  • Ability to exercise strong leadership during incident response.
  • Skilled in developing metrics and in conducting security related trend analysis.
  • Change management experience in a Research & Development and/or GxP environments or other regulated industry, nice to have.
  • Have or be in process of acquiring ASIS certification such as CPP, PSP, PCI, APP, or other physical security certifications such as CPTED, nice to have.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads up to 50lbs.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and balance problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job field and department.
