About the role
The purpose of this position is to implement and lead HSE (Environmental Health and Safety) programs relative to a national/international corporate account supporting North America.
This job is part of the Environment Health and Safety function. They are responsible for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.
This role can be filled in the United States, and will require up to 25% travel.
What you'll do
- Develops, implements and leads HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE safety and Environmental) needs of a client account(s). Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.
- Directs and coordinates activities of personnel staff engaged in HSE programs.
- Coordinates HSE plans, playbooks and procedures for an account, market area, or geographical region of responsibility. Ensures HSE plans and playbooks are current, complete and successfully implemented.
- Monitors health and safety and environmental regulatory compliance within the account, market area, or geographical/contractual area of responsibility. Develops and implements strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance.
- Reviews and leads all aspects of all work processes and conditions to ensure HSE protective measures are optimized. Develops, recommend preventative and improvement measures to ensure the enhancement of EH&S programs.
- Manages and coordinates the interactions with government agencies, professional Health, Safety and Environmental groups, community advisory panels, corporate HSE officers, and all internal safety activities
- Provides direct and timely counsel and information to management for the account, market area, or geographical region in matters pertaining to HSE, compliance, trends, performance and concerns.

What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Direct work experience interacting with regulatory agencies and/or compliance officers is required.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is required.
- Experience working in Life Sciences or Healthcare industry is a plus.
- Bilingual Spanish is desired.
- Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple departments results within a function.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Regional HSE Director role is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Regional HSE Director role is $150,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
