About the role

CBRE is seeking a skilled painter/drywall technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint using brushes, rollers, and occasionally, sprayers, installing drywall, and finishing drywall joints to ensure a smooth surface. The painter/drywall technician will work on a variety of projects, both commercial and residential, and will be responsible for completing jobs in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, and filling cracks and holes
  • Apply the paint using brushes, rollers, or sprayers
  • Cover floors and furniture with drop cloths and tape to protect them from paint
  • Install drywall using screws or nails, ensuring that it is level and flush with surrounding surfaces
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect corners and edges
  • Tape and finish joints and corners using joint compound, smoothing and sanding surfaces to a seamless finish
  • Apply texture to walls and ceilings using spray equipment or hand tools
  • Repair or replace damaged drywall as necessary
  • Ensure the work area is clean and safe
  • Keep accurate records of materials used and hours worked

Desired Skills

  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
  • Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What you'll need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Proven experience as a painter/drywall technician
  • Knowledge of painting and drywall installation and finishing techniques, materials, and equipment
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
