About the role
Provide maintenance support primarily to Process Research and Development. Background in the Machinist craft and experience on milling and lathes required to fabricate parts. Provide multi-craft support as dictated by workload to department.
To install and maintain customer and facility equipment for reliability using the proactive asset model. A strong emphasis is placed on customer service, asset utilization, and helping our customers enhances scientific innovation.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems

- Mechanic will have the responsibility of safely completing in a timely manner fume hoods maintenance / pump repairs / reactor maintenance / rigging and general maintenance of all mechanical equipment / performing preventive maintenance / small piping jobs / basic HVAC work / basic carpenter work.
- Maintenance on a verity of equipment and systems such as air-handlers, Vacuum and Mechanical pumps, etc.
- Good understanding of predictive maintenance and how it relates to systems in their area of responsibility. Parts fabricated from drawings and sketches from lab personnel.
- Ability to work in a multi-craft atmosphere, assist other crafts as needed basis.
What you'll need
- Experience in pumps, valve, and other mechanical equipment repair, installation, and general maintenance.
- Candidate should have proven abilities to work independently and provide good communications, verbal, written, and the use of electronic mail. They should be able to provide good documentation of work orders and able to coordinate and prioritize work.
- Must be able perform daily maintenance activities that require extensive walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, the ability to work in high places, climb stairs and ladders up to and above 8 feet and be comfortable working on ladders, scaffolds, and using lifts. Work may also be required in confined spaces or in hot or extreme cold areas with potential exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, dangerous processes and machinery and loud noises.
- Utilize GMARS, My Workplace data systems to input time, enter work order closing notes for unavailable hours, access e-mail, access MSDS, access safety manual, procedures, training and a variety of corporate systems.
