About the role
Acts as the first point of contact, responsible for all third-party contractors, ensuring that they have a valid EHS and GMP induction, managing lab instrument inventory, maintenance, and proper functioning of all laboratory instrumentation, ensuring its availability for research or experiments by coordinating repairs, calibrations, and operation qualifications; they often maintain detailed work order closing notes, while aiming to minimize downtime and optimize instrumentation lifespan.

What You'll Do
- Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all laboratory instrumentation, including details like serial numbers, purchase dates, and calibration schedules within the computerized maintenance management system.
- Regularly auditing instrumentation inventory to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinating with vendors for repairs and calibrations of specialized instrumentation. ensuring a thorough risk assessment, and an official method statement and permit, prior to the commencement of work.
- Using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), administers the closure manage work orders in compliance with quality procedures and best practices.
- Keeps end users apprised of work order status and acts as a lead for the timely escalation of service request(s).
- Ensures CMMS records are updated accurately, contemporaneously and reflects the status of the equipment.
- Ensures purchase order(s) are place in conjunction with prior commencement of non-contract work.
- Assists in audit preparation; retrieves documentation for inspection purposes.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.

- Problem-solving Abilities: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with researchers, vendors, and technical support teams.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous recordkeeping and adherence to safety procedures.
EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study or 2 - year degree, High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required and a minimum of years of related experience or equivalent work experience; pharmaceutical and/or GMP experience. Prior experience working in a laboratory setting, ideally with hands-on experience with various laboratory instrumentation. Technical Proficiency and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
