About The Role:

CBRE AFFORDABLE HOUSING is seeking a highly motivated intern who can assist with financial modeling, analysis, research, and various special projects. Our paid interns gain exposure to the key sales and finance components of the commercial real estate industry, with a focus on multifamily affordable housing properties. The ideal candidate has a passion for the commercial real estate industry and is a motivated hard worker who is client-focused, solution-driven, and dedicated to deliver excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide support to the team, including but not limited to analyzing the financial aspects of multiple multifamily housing properties in order to identify and/or analyze lending opportunities and lending risks/mitigants.
  • Assist in analyzing financial statements, rent rolls, populating financial models, and articulating conclusions.
  • Complete research on the strengths and weaknesses of real estate markets throughout the U.S. where the subject properties are located.
  • Identify and interpret inconsistencies and opportunities in the data obtained or received.
  • Start financial models for full-time team of Loan Production Analysts, Production Manager and Loan Originators.
  • If time permits, conduct research and create clear reports of results for Managing Director, Head of Loan Originators, and/or Production Manager.

Location: New York City, NY (In Person)

Hours: Can work 20 hours during the school year and may continue into the summer for 5 days and 40 hours per week.

What You'll Need:

  • Must be a junior or senior currently in an accredited undergraduate business degree program, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills; solid proficiency with other Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Previous job experience working in an office setting. Real Estate background and internship experience is a plus.
  • Can work 20 hours during school year. Possibility to continue into summer for 5 days and 40 hours per week.
  • A passionate, can-do attitude. Highly motivated, intellectually curious. Takes actions to learn quickly.
  • Shown aptitude and skills for analyzing data, financial modeling, and reporting. Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal & written communication skills. Reports status of projects succinctly with suggested next steps.
  • Meets deadlines by working independently and with a team.
  • Takes ownership of and accountability for effectively prioritizing and completing multiple projects/tasks on time.
  • Keeps client and company information confidential.

New York Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training and experience. The minimum salary for the Intern position is $18.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the Intern position is $20.00 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
