About the role

The Facility Engineer provides utilities engineering, facilities engineering, project management, and customer equipment support for Pharmaceutical Research & Development community. This includes, but is not limited to, managing large Project assets, shared systems (including utilities and facilities), and customer equipment assets. Position specifically supports Clinical Trials (dry and parenteral), Formal Stability and Reference Standards, parenteral and dry pilot plants, and various development laboratories. Portions of these facilities fall under cGMP requirements, and this position will support critical facilities and systems specifically associated with cGMP operations

What you'll do

Facilities and utilities regulatory compliance (FUME) is critical for effective operation of Product Development facilities. Gains and effectively uses an understanding of both the regulatory requirements and customer operations, local and federal regulatory requirements.

Responsible for handling budgets for utility and facility improvement projects. Responsibilities include estimating, engineering, developing scope, and facilitating customer happiness.

Communicates effectively and professionally in both written and verbal communications with internal customers, vendors, contractors, all levels of management, crafts, and scientific personnel.

Proactively leads the existing asset base, completes small projects for the customer, and represents the customer on large projects. Analyzes and implements proactive maintenance to meet requirements and economic feasibility.

Researches and implements new technology for replacement of equipment and operations assets.

Interacts with the local process engineering staff that supports PPD, including Clinical Trial operations, central utilities and components of corporate engineering including the Engineering Tech. Center, Global Facilities Delivery, and Security. May also serve as a liaison to large capital projects that impact PRD Buildings.

Responsible for various shared systems throughout the building including non-GMP Condensate, Chilled Water, Steam, Potable Water, Process Water, Hot Water, Electrical, Vacuum, Dust Collection, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, Fire Protection and General Infrastructure.

Support the identification and accomplishment of departmental goals, and supporting the development and implementation of PR&D quality system process.

Responsible for approving failed PMs, drawing updates, change controls for systems under their responsibility, and general work orders.

What you'll need

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Engineering Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred with combination of work experience required in one of the following: Project Management, previous work with engineering systems, or facilities and utility management experience.

Prefer critical environments and/or regulated industry experience including Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Data Center, Hospital/ Healthcare, etc.
