About the Role:

As a CBRE ESG Reporting Associate Director/Senior Manager, you will be part of the ESG Controllership Team responsible for developing and executing ESG reporting program and overseeing and managing CBRE's ESG regulatory reporting initiatives, ensuring accurate and transparent communication of our ESG performance to stakeholders.

This role will report directly to the Global ESG Controller and is responsible for developing and implementing ESG reporting strategies, and managing data collection and analysis, preparing comprehensive reports, and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. The ESG Reporting Associate Director/Senior Manager will also assist project management elements of ESG reporting program on a needed basis.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement ESG reporting frameworks. Engage with internal departments and external stakeholders to gather necessary ESG information.
  • Ensure all data relevant to ESG reporting is collected accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure data integrity and consistency across all ESG reporting.
  • Monitor reporting subject matter changes in ESG regulations and standards, advising the company on necessary reporting adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the company's ESG profile.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on ESG data analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure timely preparation of comprehensive ESG reports. Ensure reports comply with relevant ESG regulations, standards, and guidelines such as CSRD, US SEC, GRI, ISSB, TCFD, and local reporting requirements.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on ESG reporting and sustainability practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in ESG reporting and sustainability.
  • On a needed basis, assist with ESG reporting program project management components. Define ESG reporting program project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Track project milestones, budget and deliverables.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with ESG and/or financial reporting processes, in a large global company or similar experience with global accounting/consulting firms.
  • Thorough understanding of ESG reporting frameworks, reporting standards, and industry trends is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, and handle problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Proven experience in project management with diverse stakeholders is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex issues or concepts to others within the organization.
  • Ability to manage priorities and critical deadlines with minimal direction.
  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), sustainability related certification, project management certification or equivalent preferred.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the ESG Reporting Associate Director position is $150,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $185,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
