About the Role

As a Control Systems Technician, you will focus on operational performance by troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras and SCADA devices/programs.

What You'll Do

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Manage material handling control systems, industrial, motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies.
  • Use operation system assessment reports to improve material handling system reliability through preventive maintenance tasks completion and identification of deficiency repairs.
  • Communicate technical issues to site and operations leadership.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and the Operations Maintenance team members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in US or Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience working with Motor Controls (motor starts, variable frequency drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components).
  • Experience working with repair of control network components.
  • 1+ years of experience working with HMI components.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs.
  • 1+ years of experience with Industrial and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations.

• Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electronic technology (or similar field).
  • 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/ programming.
  • Experience supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems.
  • Experience with robotic maintenance.
  • Experience with AB RS LOGIX 5000 PLC's and PLC components.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and KPI's.
