About the role

As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What you'll do:

• Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. Primary duty is to perform routine maintenance on boiler and related boiler systems at the facility. Uses several trade skills such as heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical.

• Responsible for maintaining the site heating system which include low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boiler and steam boilers.

• Perform routine maintenance on the site heating equipment and supporting systems.

• Highly safety conscious to work in the following environments: extreme temperatures, steam, electrical, loud noise, heights.

• Maintain and replace valves, filters, steam gauges, turbines, pumps, compressors, water lines, steam lines, piping and other related systems.

• Observe pressure, temperature and draft meters on panel to verify specified operation of automatic combustion control systems, feed water regulators, and burners.

• Test the boiler water and balance with chemicals when needed.

• Inspect water, gas, and other fluid levels and adjust as needed.

• Record daily readings to include gas, feed water tests and any other required readings.

• Adjust valves and boiler controls as need to control the amount of pressure in the system

• Monitor boiler operations during normal operations.

• Maintain and update service data logs.

What you'll need

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more

• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

• Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
