About the Role
In this vital role, you will support the maintenance and operation of the building systems inside a client facility. As a Lead Building Engineer you will lead shift operations and be the liaison for vendor and subcontractor relationships. You will also monitor building systems operations and performance by performing preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. This role applies several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.
What You'll Do
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Lead shift operations, assign work orders, and provide technical/procedural training to coworkers and subcontractors.
- Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
- Arrange, oversee and inspect work performed by outside contractors.
- Stay in sync with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience.
- Implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and the Operations Maintenance team members.

What You'll Need
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- High School Diploma or GED + 4 years' experience in building equipment and operations OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective communication, presentation, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of financial terms and principles, as well as financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting
- Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations.
- Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Universal CFC certification strongly preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be strongly preferred by local or state jurisdictions.
