The Team You'll Work With
Carta is looking for a Business Development - Strategic Projects Intern to join our APAC and Middle East team in January 2025.
Carta opened its Singapore office in 2021, and since then, has been building a world-class team to support the startup ecosystem across Asia Pacific. The Singapore team is lean and agile, and composed of local venture industry experts and Carta experts.
The Business Development - Strategic Projects Intern for APAC and Middle East will report to Carta's Head of Partnerships and Business Development, APAC + Middle East. This is a role that interfaces with both the VC and Startup business units at Carta.
You'll gain hands-on experience in strategic business development, working on impactful projects that directly contribute to Carta's growth and presence in APAC and the Middle East. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore diverse partnership models, build valuable relationships, and develop skills that will jumpstart your career in B2B tech.
The Problems You'll Solve
- Drive the launch and growth of partnerships with venture capital firms and other key strategic partners across APAC and the Middle East.
- Support the development and management of success fee partnerships with financially motivated collaborators, ensuring alignment with Carta's goals.
- Assist in building co-selling partnerships with service providers, such as outsourced CFOs and technology partners, to expand Carta's ecosystem.
- Coordinate efforts for Carta's key partner programmes across regions like Japan, Australia, Dubai, and Singapore, ensuring successful execution and strong engagement.
- Research, prospect, and evaluate new partnership opportunities, creating actionable plans to engage potential collaborators.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to maximize the impact of partnership strategies.
- Streamline internal processes for tracking the performance and outcomes of various partnership types.
- Address challenges in partner onboarding and engagement, finding creative solutions to ensure a seamless experience.

Nice To Haves
- Experience managing data in a CRM system (Preferably: Salesforce)
- Proficiencies with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (GSuite)
- Knowledge of venture capital and startup ecosystem
- Experience working at a high-growth software company or venture capital firm
