The Problems You'll Solve

As Senior Director of Security / Chief Information Security Officer, you'll define Carta's security strategy, including:
- Secure Carta's internal systems, offices and employees from all threats, including the maintenance and operation of our SOC2 and other compliance frameworks.
- Protect customers while maintaining a great customer experience.
- Ensure security objectives are sufficient to mitigate evolving risks - achieve those objectives by embedding security into the business and engineering lifecycle of the company.
- Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and Carta's leadership team to intertwine security with Carta's overarching strategy and work.
- Facilitate Carta's culture of security with training, education, and careful process design for how Security enables Carta and our customers.
The Team You'll Work With
You'll be joining our Engineering Leadership team, reporting to Carta's CTO, and leading our GRC, Corporate Security, Operational Security, and Information Technology teams. You'll work closely with Carta's executive team, Board of Directors, and customers. Your most important partners across Carta will be Compliance, Legal, and our SRE team.
About You
- Experience as a senior security leader either within a public company or taking a company public. You may not have been the senior-most security leader, but you worked with that leader directly.
- Ideally, you also have some experience working in an earlier stage company. Carta isn't a small startup, but we move at a good pace.
- Mastery in several, and exposure to all of: Compliance, SecOps, GRC, and IT.
- 10+ years of experience recommended.
Salary
Carta's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:
- $273,750 - $365,000 in San Francisco, CA; Santa Clara, CA; or New York City, NY
- $260,063 - $346,750 in Seattle, WA
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
