Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Analyst, Derivatives & Commodities Compliance (DCC) will be responsible for complex compliance support for Cargill Risk Management, a CFTC limited designation swap dealer. In this role, you will work closely with Cargill Risk Management's Deputy Chief Compliance Officer to manage swap dealer and commodities regulatory risk across the business. This position will primarily be responsible for advisory compliance to the front office (Sales, Trading and Marketing) personnel of Cargill Risk Management with an emphasis on North and South America. The position will also involve working with internal DCC teams to execute various risk management/mitigating programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • With limited supervision, review business activities and vet proposed transactions, taking into account internal policies and guidelines as well as outside regulatory requirements to mitigate risk.
  • Advise on regulatory guidelines relating to commodity swaps and futures trading, and compliance with swap dealer regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments of the business including Sales, Trading, Technology, Credit, Middle Office, Finance, Operations, Accounting and Legal.
  • Respond to and assist in the remediation of internal trade and communication surveillance alerts.
  • Lead the tracking, analysis and reporting of regulatory metrics including compliance with policies and procedures, and operational risk reporting.
  • Support regulatory inquiries; conduct reviews into potential compliance issues, prepare responses, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Regulatory Compliance teams including Testing & Auditing, Governance & Supervision, Monitoring & Surveillance, and Regulatory Response & Implementation.
  • Work with more senior Compliance and Business staff when dealing with complex issues, larger clients, accounts, projects, analyses, or internal relationships.
  • Independently manage complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Relevant experience in Regulatory Compliance, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Legal, Sales or Trading

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with CFTC and NFA registered Swap Dealers, Commodity Trading Advisors, Commodity Pool Operators, Introducing Brokers or Futures Commission Merchants
  • Experience in regulatory compliance, derivatives or the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of swap dealer (CFTC and NFA) or exchange rules (CME, ICE or similar exchanges)
  • Knowledge of commodity futures or swaps in agriculture, energy or metals markets
  • Experience in handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently, including planning, execution, and monitoring of initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills; able to effectively collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders across all organizational levels
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI or similar data analytics applications a plus but not required
  • Working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese a plus but not required

Additional Position Information

The expected salary for this position is $102,000-$129,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
