Retail Consumer Risk focuses on core platforms, product design, technology, and customer protection that allows our customers to bank with confidence. Retail risk advisors work through unstructured problems and manage change while demonstrating superior problem-solving skills and strong judgment. Additionally, Risk advisors conduct risk assessments using various assessment tools and methodologies.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven track record of project and program delivery; change resiliency to maintain momentum in a dynamic, fast-paced and complex environment and among competing priorities; and strong partnership, communication and presentation skills to engage and influence critical stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, who is capable of driving transformational change and delivering game-changing value. The preferred candidate will have experience working in Compliance, Technology, or Risk Management organizations within a major financial institution or technology company, with a solid understanding of process and change management frameworks, risk and control methodology and regulatory requirement management and applicability.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager-level risk advisor, you will:


  • Provide risk consultation across lines of business and risk leadership across the broader Risk Team and Lines of Defense related to the complexities of the Bank's core platforms, product builds and both customer and associate facing platforms.
  • Guide Risk Advisors on Risk Assessments, events, issues and other challenge activities.
  • Influence senior management to drive and prioritize mitigation of new and emerging risks
  • Drive informed and appropriate risk decisions regarding changes to processes, operations, products, and services.
  • Escalation of material unresolved risks if the business decision falls outside of the established business risk appetite.
  • Act as a leader across the Risk Management team, including associate development.
  • Lead a risk management framework enabling appropriate governance and oversight to processes and platforms.
  • Continuously work to enhance the automated control program with preventive controls, and real time monitoring and alerting.
  • Perform critical assessments on risk categories to mitigate risk to the company and drive remediation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Risk related experience in a Bank or Technology role
  • At least 7 years of experience with financial services industry
  • At least 5 years of experience with Risk Frameworks, Control Methodologies, or Lines of Defense

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience Operational familiarity with Commercial Lending, Underwriting and Portfolio Management or Treasury Management
  • 5+ years of experience with Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Speciality Financial Products, Capital Markets, or Treasury Back Office processes
  • Experience influencing senior leadership in an advisory capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to understand strategic imperatives and position team goals to effectively support those mandates
  • Experience interacting with Audit and Regulatory Authorities
  • Experience with risk core methodologies and risk categories
  • 3+ years of experience structuring slides and presentations in order to convey risk information
  • Professional certifications (i.e., Business Process Management certification, Lean or Green Belt Certification CFE, CRM, CIA, etc.)
