This role represents the needs of the customer to inform our product roadmap, ensuring we are building and delivering measurable improvement for our customers and achieving target business outcomes. You will be responsible for strategy and feature definition and development in partnership with our technology teams.
The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about technology and deeply empathizes with internal and external customer needs; they are excited about how to unlock product insights through a deep understanding of the customer journey and can then take that data to present a compelling strategy to build buy-in with partners. They are comfortable in conversation with engineering and data science teams as well as stakeholders and senior leaders.
Technical Product Managers engage with developers, business leaders and stakeholders, and build technical product vision, strategies and roadmaps, driving objectives throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your expertise and insights will improve Capital One's Associate experience. This role is integral to driving technology innovation and better customer experience at Capital One.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Define user requirements, strategy and prioritization
- Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy for key components and features.
- Responsible for direct ownership of products including customer and product definition, design, monitoring, governance and alignment of key stakeholders.
- Understand the needs of business stakeholders, data scientists, engineers and Capital One customers.
- Prioritize the product backlog to maximize business and customer outcomes.
- Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
- Enable collaboration and ensure communication between teams.
- Maintain a healthy backlog of work and play a critical role in many agile ceremonies.
- Support the team with escalation and resolution of impediments.
- Collect and analyze data to make data driven decisions on product strategy and design.
- Make hard trade-offs to achieve goals
As a Sr. Manager, Product Management within the Associate Experience organization, you'll have access to:
- A suite of products that support the associate experience. Capital One is reimagining the internal associate experience and this product manager will be directly responsible for impacting the change and driving measurable, key results through an existing product suite, with opportunities to expand the portfolio based on business and user needs.
- This product manager will work directly with our tech teams and design partners to enable the various goals across our different lines of businesses. This associate should be energized about enabling our internal partners to deliver better experiences for our associates.
- Assisting in the strategy and product roadmap for the experience of multiple products
- Communicating roadmap and business impact with tech teams and lines of business
- Working with tech team and Agile partners to define stories, build, and execute against product roadmap
- Building connections across lines of business and understand their various goals
- Continuously optimizing and improving our app metrics strategy with lines of businesses to better serve their needs
- Working with our Design and User Research partners to inform app and web component development strategy and user experience for the products
- Driving and measuring value of the product suite solutions
- Mentoring team members on all aspects of the product mindset lifecycle and process

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or military experience
- At least 5 year of product management experience or at least 5 year of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- MBA or Master's degree
- 5+ years of experience in Agile product management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $199,100 - $227,200 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
