As a Senior Risk Manager at Capital One, you will be part of the Capital One Retail Risk Office and focus primarily on Identity & Access Management (IAM) risks.

This role will primarily support risk management activities related to Identity & Access Management across the Bank Tech and Premium Product Experience (PPX) lines of business, including Audit and Regulatory commitments and engagement with Senior Leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the risk management thought leader and advisor to the Bank Tech and Retail Risk leadership teams, serving as the subject matter expert on our IAM risk management approach, frameworks and processes. Advise and guide our team to engineer technology and processes that removes risk from the environment and improve our daily operations in alignment with our strategic direction.
  • Oversee the program management of IAM risk management. Lead and collaborate with various teams to drive the execution to improve, create, and validate requirements, processes, controls, and metrics to measure process efficiency and effectiveness. Drive the projects end to end, which may include the creation and maintenance of formal process documents and supporting artifacts.
  • Be the point of contact for Retail Risk to the IAM leadership team and partners across the company. Proficiently tailor verbal and written communications to the audience's needs and levels. Articulate our program's strategy, processes, intent, inputs and outputs, related failure modes, and measurements when representing the department in projects, meetings, reports, and communications.
  • Manage the issue resolution process by proactively identifying and mitigating risk related to the delivery of the projects and program. Resolve complex problems, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines, requirements or processes; escalate breakdowns in the process by asking probing questions and identify and involve the right stakeholders to correct breakdowns.
  • Prepare the program and team for annual risk assessments by working with other risk and audit colleagues to understand the assessment process and criteria. Analyze the program and team's gaps and create an action plan to remediate the deficiencies.
  • Develop business strategies that will drive risk mitigation, well managed focus, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
  • Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic risk management
  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement and improvements through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. The candidate should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of IAM, Tech Risk, or Cyber Risk experience
  • At least 3 years of people leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security related certifications such as Security+, CISA, CISM, CISSP
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience in a technology or financial services environment
