Sr. Manager Data Analyst - ATM & Cash Strategy
On the ATM and Cash Analytics team, you'll be at the heart of driving operational excellence across Capital One's ATM and Cash ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics, Robotics, product strategy, and operational execution, providing analytical leadership for a team deeply embedded in vendor integration, ATM log mining, cash logistics, and financial reconciliation.In addition to leading a team of data analysts, this role also oversees the Retail Intelligent Automation (RPA) Bots team, which builds and maintains automation solutions that reduce manual work, improve operational efficiency, and enhance reporting. This hybrid team structure provides a unique opportunity to lead both analytics and automation efforts, driving value through data insights and intelligent process automation.

You'll partner closely with cross-functional operations teams, technology stakeholders, and product owners to build high-impact data pipelines, improve vendor transparency, and drive decision-making with data. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence organizational direction by uncovering key insights hidden in complex datasets like ATM transaction logs and vendor reporting.
The ideal candidate will combine a passion for mining operational data, a strong grasp of data engineering principles, and the ability to lead both people and projects. You'll be expected to influence Org leaders by translating analytical findings into actionable business insights that support strategic investments.
On a given day, you will be:
- Leading a team of analysts to build data products that support Capital One's ATM and cash operations.
- Partnering with operations, product, and tech teams to automate vendor invoice reconciliation and develop scalable reporting pipelines.
- Driving the strategy for ingesting and analyzing complex ATM logs to identify trends, reduce operational risk, and support strategic decision-making.
- Working with enterprise tech teams to align on long-term data engineering solutions and advocate for enhancements that enable better insights across cash and ATM functions.
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members to grow analytical and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Leading efforts to improve team operations, foster collaboration, and build a strong, data-driven culture within the ATM and Cash space.
- Leading a team of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) developers focused on building, deploying, and maintaining automation bots across retail operations.
- Partnering with business teams to design automation use cases and translate them into scalable bot solutions
- Overseeing governance, change management, and metrics reporting for bots in production
- Collaborating with data analysts and bot developers to combine automation and insights into integrated solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of experience performing data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree plus at least 5 years of experience performing data analytics with an expectation that required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.
- At least 5 years of experience with professional data analysis work experience
- At least 2 years leading and developing with open source data technologies
- At least 2 years of experience in people management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or PhD in a Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in statistical or econometrics hands-on work
- At least 5 years of experience manipulating and performing analysis with large data sets
- At least 5 years of experience in financial services industry
- At least 5 years of experience in developing statistical or econometric models
- At least 5 years of experience in validating statistical or econometric models
- At least 2 years of experience with data governance
- At least 2 years of experience with predictive analytics

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Data Analysis Manager
Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Data Analysis Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
