The Cyber Security Architect is responsible for delivering architecture intent to the cyber organization and enterprise stakeholders. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to securely achieve requirements of business initiatives. The Cyber Security Architect is a technical authority on information security architecture across the enterprise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish strategic security architecture direction for assigned subject matter domain, including standards and frameworks that are aligned with overall business strategy
  • Serve as the Application and Solution Architect for the Endpoint Security Service and as a resource to tackle ambiguous problem statements in other areas of Cyber as needed
  • Work closely with Security Engineering, Divisional Information Security Officers, Security Product Managers, Enterprise Architecture, and infrastructure architecture and engineering teams
  • Understand current as well as emerging security threats. Identify appropriate technology capabilities and usage patterns to mitigate threats
  • Stay current with emerging technology evolution and corresponding security concerns . Identify security architecture capabilities and design security architecture patterns & solutions to mitigate potential threats
  • Develop architecture roadmaps for delivering a set of new capabilities where several dependencies need to be managed
  • Assess emerging technologies against security architecture to determine where they fill gaps, overlap with existing solutions or extend capabilities
  • Serve as information security subject matter expert; provide advisory and consulting services as needed
  • Review existing and proposed architectures, identify security design gaps, and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Participate in solution architecture design; lead security efforts assisting with the integration and initial implementation of solutions
  • Implement technical proof of concepts that demonstrate how an architecture or design would be realized and prove out key technical concepts
  • Achieve security architecture compliance based on internal external standards and requirements, including: Capital One Security Standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, payment card industry standards, HIPAA, data privacy requirements, as well as state and federal regulations
  • Coach and mentor junior Cyber Associates in Cyber CTO or other towers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years experience in cybersecurity or information technology
  • At least 5 years of solution architecture experience
  • At least 3 years of software development experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure services
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing security solutions based on open source projects
  • CISSP or SANS Certification
  • Cloud Computing Certification
