Senior Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack - Capital One Software (Remote Eligible)

Capital One Software is seeking a Senior Lead Full Stack Software Engineer who is passionate about marrying innovation with emerging technologies.

We are a new enterprise B2B software business focused on providing cloud and data management solutions to companies operating in the cloud. This is Capital One's first foray into the enterprise software market and comes after years spent building our own in-house cloud and data management tools that enable us to operate at scale in the cloud. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful software that enables our customers to manage their data securely and efficiently at any scale. What You'll Do:

  • Lead diverse set of technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, latency sensitive applications and full stack systems to create robust, cloud native, resilient, and highly scalable solutions in data management and security domains as an Individual Contributor.
  • Write high quality code, perform code and design reviews.
  • Share your passion for writing high quality code, staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence and being well-managed, using opportunities to reuse and inner source solutions where possible. Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
  • Be the guiding force for stakeholders in design and architecture discussions, helping the engineering teams make key technology choices, and staying associated with the use case through its development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with architects and product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for our customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Go/GoLang, JavaScript, TypeScript or SQL
  • 5+ years of experience of leading design or architecture of new/existing system
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $198,900 - $227,000 for Sr. Lead Software Engineer

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
